Over 170 million people in the world speak Portuguese as their first language. The majority (nearly 160 million) live in Brazil while about 10 million of them live in Portugal. Portuguese is also spoken in other lands such as Angola, the Açores, Mozambique, São Tome e Príncipe, Guinea Bissau, Macau, Cape Verde, the Madeiras, and East Timor.
